Hermia Character Poster

Our final character poster for A Midsummer Night's Dream is here!

Hermia (played by Diana Milton) just wants to marry the woman she loves. But her father, Egeus, isn't happy about the idea, and Hermia and Lysandra decide to run away together. When misguided fairy magic turns the lovers against each other, watch out!

Only four shows left! Tickets are available now. Do you have your seat reserved yet?

Lysandra Character Poster

The penultimate character poster for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is here, featuring Lysandra (played by Raleigh Hawthorne).

Lysandra is in love with Hermia, and wants to marry her, but Hermia's father isn't so keen on the idea. The pair decide to run away from Athens to be together... but when Lysandra gets dosed with some fairy love magic things get even more complicated!

A Midsummer Night's Dream continues this weekend. Tickets are available at now!

Bottom Character Poster

Ever wonder where we got our company name? The Rude Mechanicals are an amateur acting troupe in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and their featured performer is Bottom, also the subject of our first character poster. Bottom (played by Michael Speegle in our production) has an inflated sense of his own skills, and when he has a run-in with the fairies, well... perception becomes reality.

We're so excited to share the show that gave our company its name. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" opens THIS WEEK so buy your tickets now!

Company Auditions for The Rude Mechanicals' 2017-2018 Season will take place on May 21, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet, and on May 22 at The Uptown Theatre from 6 PM to 8:30 PM.

The Rude Mechanicals believe that diverse ideas, cultures and traditions reflect our community and enrich our insights into the work we present on stage. We are committed to diversity in all areas of our work. All interested community members are encouraged to audition for our productions.

Auditionees will be able to notify the artistic staff on their paperwork which shows they want to be considered for. They can audition for all three shows, or just one, or a couple main stage shows and some educational outreach, etc.

Auditionees will be required to prepare two contrasting Shakespearian monologues, totalling no more than five minutes in length.

To set up an appointment, or if you have questions, please feel free to e-mail Artistic Director Ellicia Elliott at ellicia@rmtheatre.org

Please fill out the online submission form so we can start preparing for your appointments. Also please fill out (or be prepared to fill out) the Audition Form (PDF) and attach your acting resume and headshot to this form.

Please review the Actor Code of Conduct (PDF) from our Operations Manual, so you can see what our requirements are for anyone cast in our shows.
